How Do I Place an Ad?

Before placing an Ad

Before creating an Ad, you must first be logged into your account.

  • If you need to create an account proceed to the Join Us page to register.

Placing an Ad

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on your name (top right-hand corner).
  3. Click “My Ads” from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click “Post An Ad” on the left-hand side under “My Ads”.
  5. Title type - is defaulted to show the title, if you would prefer to hide the title click on hide.
  6. Title - Type in the desired title for your Ad into the title box.
        • Max 47 Character
  7. Ad Text - Type in any additional text you would like to include in your Ad in the Ad text box.
        • Max 1000 Characters
  8. Button Text - If you would like to have a clickable button on your Ad, type the desired text into the Button text box.
  9. Button URL - Enter in the desired URL that will re-direct once pushed on your Ad in the Button URL box.
  10. Page - Select the page you would like your Ad to appear on HE.com into the Page box.
        • e.g. Home, Listing, Hub Main… Please check the Rates Page for available Pages.
  11. Ad Position - Select where you would like your Ad to appear on HE.com into the Ad Position box.
        • Banner, Right Side or Left Side. The page you selected may not have some positions available.  Please check the Rates Page for available locations.
  12. Sidebar Image - Select the desired image you would like to use on your Ad by completing the following steps: 
          • Banner Images Maximum Size (1140*280)
          • Sidebar Images Maximum Size (295*400)
      • Click “Choose File” from the Sidebar Image box.
      • Select the desired image from your device and click open.
      • If needed, click the pencil icon on the right-hand side of the image to crop and rotate then click “Save”.
      • Select the date range you would like your Ad visible for, (minimum 7 days), also select the number of slots you would like your Ad to appear in then click apply. (The more Slots the more times your Ad will be presented in the cycle).
      • Under the image you will see a "Preview Button".  Click on this button to see how your image will look.
      • Beside the Preview Button, you will see the PriceAs you select dates & slots, the amount will change in accordance with your selection including discounts for multiple dates as presented on the Rates Page.
      • If no changes are required, click “Submit For Approval”.

After Your Ad Has Been Submitted

  1. Once your Ad has been submitted for approval it will be reviewed.
  2. After your Ad has been accepted, you will be contacted by email to inform you of its approval.
  3. The email also has a payment link “click me to pay” or, if you prefer, you can simply log into your account and navigate to My Ads where you will see  the Add to Cart Button. Click here and follow the payment process.
  4. Your Ad will be posted on HE.com during the dates you selected.

Requesting a Custom Ad on HE.com

  1. Login to your account.
    • Click on “Contact Us” from the top menu bar.
    • Fill in the form, enter in the best email address or phone number we can use to contact you.
    • Enter in some details about the Ad you would like us to create.
    • Push Submit.
  2. You will be contacted via email from the information you provided us.
  3. Once we have gathered all the necessary information we will provide you with a quote.

How to Create an Industry News Article

Before placing an Industry News Article

Before creating an Industry News Article, you must first be logged into your account.

  • If you need to create an account proceed to the Join Us page to register.

Place an Industry News Article 

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on your name (top right-hand corner).
  3. Select “My Industry News”
  4. Select Create
  5. Type of News:
    • Basic package includes:
        • One Article posted on the Industry News main page for a limited time and remains on heavyequipment.com News Page Archives forever.
    • Pro:
        • One Article posted on the Industry News main page for a limited time and remains on heavyequipment.com News Page Archives forever.
        • One spotlight appearance.
    • Premium
        • One Article posted on the Industry News main page for a limited time and remains on heavyequipment.com News Page Archives forever.
        • One spotlight appearance.
        • Includes one email announcement circulated by heavyequipment.com to our email distribution list.
  6. Amount of Days - Select the number of days you would like to have your Article appear on the Industry News Main page.
        • Minimum 7 Days
        • You will be presented with a price before tax based on the Type of news and duration selected when you have completed the Create Industry News form
  7. Title - Enter the Title of the Article you would like displayed;
        • Max 128 Characters
  8. Categories - Select from the dropdown which Category you would like your Article to appear in.
        • These categories may be updated from time to time.
  9. Description - Enter a brief description about your Industry News Article.
        • Maximum 255 Characters
  10. Image - Choose an Image to be displayed on the Industry News Article’s Main page - Image should be jpeg, png, jpg format.  If you would like an image to appear within your Article, you will need to upload that image into the content body section of your Article again.
  11. Content - Create your Industry News Article and upload your image if you would like to have one included with the content.
        • Click on the Upload Icon button to upload your image.  Upload from the source where you have saved the image and click save. 
        • To rotate and crop click the blue pencil on the right-hand side of the image.
  12. Preview Button - Will present a preview of the article content section and  how it will look when published.
  13. Submit Button - Will Submit the Industry News Article for Approval 

After Your Industry News Article Has Been Submitted

  1. Once the Industry News Article has been submitted, it will be reviewed by our team.
  2. You will be notified via email when your Article has been approved and your status (in the “List” under the Industry News section) will change from Pending Approval to Approved. 
  3. You will receive an email with confirmation that your Article has been approved. When the status has changed to Approved you will be able to click on the Add to Cart button to make your payment.
  4. Upon receipt of payment your Article will be activated.

How Do I Place a Listing?

Before placing a Listing

Before creating a Listing, you must first be logged into your account.

  • If you need to create an account proceed to the Join Us page to register.

Placing a Listing

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on your name (top right-hand corner).
  3. Click “My Listings” from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click “Post A Listing” on the left-hand side under “Listing”.
  5. Listing Title - type in the desired title.
  6.  Description - type in the specifics and any extra details you would like to include.
        • Maximum 500 Characters
  7. Price - Select USD or CAD, then enter in the dollar amount including cents (even if zero), for example $15,000.00.  Do not enter any special characters into the Price box.
  8. Hours - If applicable click and enter the number of hours for the item.
  9. Model – Click and enter the Model, enter N/A if the item does not have a Model.
  10. Manufacturer – Click and select a manufacturer name from the drop-down list. Your listing may rank higher in search engines if you include the manufacturer. If your manufacturer is not listed select Other. If you would like your manufacturer added to our list, send an email to our support team by clicking on support on the left side of the page, or send an email to support@heavyequipment.com.
  11. Serial # - If applicable click and enter the Serial#.
  12. Series – Click and enter the Series number, enter N/A if the item does not have a Series.
  13. Condition – Click and select from the drop-down menu.
  14. Kms/Miles - If applicable click and enter the Kms/Miles of the item.
  15. Primary Category – Click and select the category of the item from the drop-down.
  16. Type of Equipment – Click and select the equipment type from the drop-down list.  If you do not see your equipment type, please contact us by either clicking on support on the side of the page or send an email to support@heavyequipment.com.
  17. Country - Select the country that the item is in.
  18. Province/State - Select the province or state that the item is in.
  19. City - Select the city that the item is in from the drop-down.
  20. Zip/Postal Code - Type in the zip or postal code.
  21. Add-Ons - If desired, type in any relevant additional information.
  22. To place an Image(s) for the listing. 
        • Click “Choose File” from the Sidebar Image box.
        • Select the desired image from your device and click open.
        • To rotate and crop click the blue pencil on the right-hand side of the image.
        • To add additional images, repeat steps a & b
          • Max image size 400x600 pixels
          • Image should be jpeg, png or jpg format
        • Once images have been added and edited click “Submit for Approval”.
  23. Once the Listing has been approved it will be shown on the Listings Page and you will be notified via email.
  24. If your listing is held for approval, you will be notified via email.
  25. To check on the status of your listing go to “My Profile” then “My Listings”

How to Boost a Listing

Before you can Boost a Listing

Before you can Boost a Listing, you must first be logged into your account.

To Boost a Listing

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on your name (top right-hand corner).
  3. Click “My Listings” from the drop-down menu.
  4. Locate the listing you wish to promote to the top of the list.
  5. Under Action select the Boost Button. HeavyEquipment.com Boost Button Boost Icon.
  6. It will be added to your cart and make it available for purchase.
  7. Once paid for your Listing will be moved to the top of the list.

What does it cost to list my item for sale?

It is 100% FREE for a limited time to list your item for sale on heavyequipment.com! Check out the rates to boost a listing in order to increase views.

I sold my item. How do I delete my listing?

To Remove a Listing

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on your name (top right-hand corner).
  3. Click “My Listings” from the drop-down menu.
  4. Find the listing you wish to remove.
  5. Under Action select the Remove Button.
  6. Remove Listing window will open.
  7. Why are you Removing the Listing?
        • From Drop Down - select appropriate reason.
          • Sold on Website
          • Sold by Other Means
          • No Longer Selling
        • Please don't forget to leave Feedback!

What does it cost to advertise?

Advertising rates can be found in the "Rates" link located in the top menu bar.

How do I purchase a listed item?

        • Click on "Contact Seller" from within the listing and make arrangements directly with the seller.
        • Payments for all Listings will be made directly with the seller.

I have a great story, will you publish it?

Please send us a message through the "Contact Us" page if you have a story you'd like to submit for consideration.

To Update Google Chrome

  2. At the top right, click More More.
