Vermeer Debuts VXT400 and VXT500 Model Vacuum Trucks
Vermeer has introduced the new VXT400 and VXT500 vacuum truck models, both equipped with a 25‑ft (7.6‑m) boom offering 330 degrees of rotation, dual digging capability for two‑person operation, and a patent‑pending camera system designed to improve jobsite positioning.
Designed for demanding hydrovac work, the VXT400 offers 4,131 cfm (117 m³/min) airflow and 18 in Hg (0.61 bar) vacuum, paired with spoil tank options of 8, 10 or 12 yd³ (6.1, 7.6 or 9.2 m³) and a starting dry weight of 32,500 lb (14,741 kg). The VXT500 increases performance with 5,018 cfm (142 m³/min) airflow and 27 in Hg (0.91 bar) vacuum, available with 10- or 12-yd³ (7.6 or 9.2 m³) tanks and a starting weight of 35,300 lb (16,011 kg). Each truck provides 3,000 psi (206 bar) water pressure and features a patent-pending camera system with boom reach radius overlay.
Greater Productivity Through Dual Digging Capability
With dual digging capability, Vermeer vacuum excavator trucks enable two operators to work at the same time from different dig locations, helping crews increase daily production and finish projects more quickly. A side-stow boom design allows the dig tube to remain connected during transport, cutting setup time between jobsites.
With a optional patent-pending camera system and boom reach radius overlay, operators can quickly visualize the dig zone before positioning the truck. This helps eliminate unnecessary setup time while maximizing jobsite coverage. The 25-ft (7.6-m) boom rotates 330 degrees for versatile positioning.
Built for Reliability in Tough Conditions
A hydraulically driven water system powers the VXT400 and VXT500, operating only at the speed required and automatically shutting off when water flow stops. This design eliminates unloader valve wear, lowers maintenance needs and helps extend overall system life. A 3,000 psi (206 bar) water system at 10 gpm (38 L/min), upgradeable to 19.4 gpm (73 L/min), ensures reliable cutting in challenging ground conditions.
Integrated interlocks help safeguard operators and machine components by detecting issues early and minimizing unexpected interruptions. Built for all-season performance with winterization features that support dependable performance even in cold-weather conditions.
Reduces Noise Impact on Busy City Job Sites
Engineered for reduced noise output, these vacuum excavator trucks create a more comfortable work environment and limit disruption in residential or high‑traffic urban areas. Smart control technology enhances ease of use and operator efficiency
Shared platform designs across the Vermeer vacuum truck lineup allow operators to move seamlessly between different models, improving training efficiency and overall fleet productivity.
