Vermeer 605 S-Series Baler Lineup

Vermeer Builds Out 605 S-Series Baler Lineup

Vermeer has announced four round balers in its 605 S-series, ranging from a lower-horsepower model to options with added automation and monitoring. The lineup features the 605S Rancher, 605S Signature, 605S Premium and 605S Cornstalk Special.

Four Models, Different Capabilities

The 605S Rancher was the first model in the S-series when it debuted last year. Its lower power demands make it a practical option for producers who want to use existing tractors for baling.

The 605S Signature pairs a cammed pickup with faster belt speeds to handle a variety of crops and field conditions. These features are intended to support feeding consistency and productivity.

The 605S Premium adds more technology and automation. TempSense™ bearing monitoring and Auto Lube are standard, while auto eject and net lift are available options. It also can produce denser bales than the Signature.

For abrasive crops, the 605S Cornstalk Special uses the Premium platform and adds features suited to those conditions. A powered windguard and auto eject are standard, with features intended for baling tougher material.

New Feeding System

The 605 S-series features a rotor feeding system intended to produce consistent bale shapes and maintain density along the outer edges. The system is designed to maintain smooth crop feeding when field conditions vary.

The balers' design includes a heavy-duty drivetrain and dedicated bale-forming components.

Technology and Automation

All four models use Vermeer’s Atlas Pro™ control system. From the cab, operators can view bale density, moisture, shape and productivity data, as well as adjust density, net tension and the number of wraps.

Available with Premium models, TempSense™ monitors temperatures at high-stress bearings, giving operators information they can use to identify potential concerns.

Auto eject automates the final stages of baling once a bale reaches its target size, including wrapping and releasing the finished bale. The system then returns the baler to its ready position for the next cycle. Compatible with a wide range of tractors, the system can be used with existing equipment.

The 605 S-series balers are expected to be available in spring 2027.
