Peterbilt Unveils Expanded Electric Vehicle Lineup with Next-Generation Model 579EV and All-New Model 567EV

Denton, TX, April 28, 2025 – Peterbilt has announced the expansion of its electric vehicle offerings with the debut of the next-generation Model 579EV and the all-new Model 567EV—the industry's first electric vocational truck built on a conventional heavy-duty platform.

Model 579EV

Based on the proven diesel-powered Model 579, the next-gen 579EV is optimized for regional haul and drayage operations. 

Key features include:

•    Three battery configurations with up to 200 miles of range
•    DC fast charging up to 350kW, delivering 80% charge in just over 90 minutes
•    Enhanced safety features such as electronic parking brake (EPB) and Bendix® Fusion™ with Stop & Auto-Go
•    Improved driver experience with ergonomic controls, LED lighting, and superior comfort

The 579EV sports a refreshed exterior, featuring a unique grille with blue-accented splayed bars and stylish hood panels. Inside, it boasts a refined Platinum Ionic Gray interior with laser-etched trim and contrast stitching.

All-New Model 567EV

Designed for demanding vocational applications like dump, utility, and equipment-hauling, the 567EV combines durability with advanced electric performance:

•    Four battery options offering up to 250 miles of range in truck or tractor setups
•    ePTO (electric power take-off) options rated at 25kW or 150kW
•    Customizable PTO controls, body lighting connections, and frame layouts

It features a rugged yet modern exterior with EV-exclusive hood panels and blue-accented grille and crown, plus the same refined interior styling as the 579EV.

•    EV-specific Digital Driver Display with real-time charging and performance data

Both models feature the 13-inch SmartDisplay, an intuitive touchscreen interface paired with a control dial. It provides fast access to:

•    Dealer locator and, coming in 2026, Virtual Vehicle—an app marketplace for fleet productivity tools

PACCAR ePowertrain

At the heart of Peterbilt’s electric lineup is the all-new PACCAR ePowertrain, offering:

•    Dual electric motors with a midship-mounted design and integrated 3-speed transmission
•    Power options up to 605 hp and 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque
•    Proven lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for reliability and safety
•    Three-stage regenerative braking
•    Compatibility with suspensions and wheelbases from 190 inches and GCWRs up to 82,000 lbs
