New MTR726 Broadens Vermeer's Microtrenching Capabilities
The new MTR726 microtrenching attachment from Vermeer is built to support deeper fiber optic cable installations. Capable of cutting trenches up to 27 in. (68.6 cm) deep and 3 in. (7.6 cm) wide. The attachment pairs with the RTX750 ride-on tractor and expands Vermeer’s microtrenching portfolio alongside the MTR516 microtrencher, core saw, and concrete reinstatement attachments.
To support cleaner trenching operations, the attachment uses a fully enclosed cutting wheel to help improve vacuum suction and control debris. Welded polycrystalline diamond cutter (PDC) teeth mounted on the cutting wheels are designed to maintain cutting efficiency in asphalt application, while single-lever depth control and a right offset of up to 24 in. (61 cm) support precision work near curbs.
Service-friendly components help reduce maintenance time in the field. With a dual-hinged access panel, crews can quickly reach the blade for routine inspections and changeouts, with blade swaps taking as little as 25 minutes. Bolt-in wear plates can be serviced directly in the field, while the replaceable spoil outlet is built to work with 4 in. or 6 in. (10.2 cm or 15.2 cm) vac hoses.
The new attachment joins Vermeer’s existing microtrenching lineup to help contractors match equipment to specific project demands. The MTR516 supports trench depths up to 17 in. (43.2 cm) on the RTX550 and RTX750 tractors, while the MTR726 is designed for deeper cutting applications with the RTX750 tractor.
