CASE Construction Equipment has launched two new compact, high-performance midi excavators—the CX85E and CX90E—engineered to elevate productivity and versatility on today’s job sites. These machines strike the perfect balance between muscle and maneuverability, making them ideal for residential and commercial contractors, landscapers handling trenching, lifting, and grading tasks, as well as rental fleets expanding their excavation offerings.
Built for Power, Designed for Tight Spaces
With a strong 72-horsepower engine, the CX85E and CX90E deliver the kind of performance typically expected from larger machines—ideal for digging, clearing, lifting, loading, and powering advanced attachments. The CX85E has an operating weight of 19,467 lb (8,830 kg), while the CX90E weighs in at 20,305 lb (9,210 kg).
A full-featured hydraulic system includes standard auxiliary hydraulics, a drain-to-tank setup, and quick coupler circuits, allowing seamless operation of demanding attachments like hammers, augers, rippers, buckets, and grapples—without requiring aftermarket upgrades.
These midi excavators are optimized for space-restricted sites. The CX85E features a fixed boom and true zero tailswing, making it perfect for work against structures and tight boundaries. The CX90E includes a refined swing boom that provides up to 180 degrees of movement, delivering excellent reach and digging depth for trenching in confined areas.
Operator-Centric Features for Better Comfort and Control
CASE designed the CX85E and CX90E with operator comfort and control at the forefront. Both models offer one of the industry’s largest cabs, complete with automatic climate control and a heated air-suspension seat as standard. A 7-inch LCD touchscreen and excellent all-around visibility keep operators informed and aware, while ergonomic joystick controls reduce fatigue over long shifts.
Precision is built in, thanks to adjustable electro-hydraulic controls that allow users to fine-tune lift and tilt response to match their preferences or the demands of the task. This adaptability makes running complex attachments smoother and more intuitive.
Customizable, Service-Friendly, and Jobsite-Ready
Designed to meet the challenges of diverse terrain and jobsite conditions, the CX85E and CX90E offer multiple undercarriage options, including full rubber tracks, several steel track widths, and steel tracks with rubber pads. An optional LED lighting package provides exceptional illumination for safe, effective operation at any hour.
Maintenance is simplified through smart design. A tilting cab gives quick access to key hydraulic components, while wide service compartments, swing-out side panels, and ground-level checkpoints streamline daily inspections and upkeep.
