Kubota Canada Strengthened Compact Construction Lineup with Three New Models

Kubota expanded its commitment to compact construction with the launch of two new excavators and a new compact track loader.

PICKERING, ONTARIO, – Kubota Canada Ltd. announced three additions to its robust compact construction lineup: the U17-5 zero-tail swing compact excavator, the KX040-5 compact excavator, and the SVL97-3 compact track loader. These models marked Kubota’s first product launches of 2025 and an exciting milestone as the company celebrated its 50th anniversary in Canada.

U17-5: Superior Operability with Enhanced Comfort

The U17-5 zero-tail swing excavator delivered power and efficiency in tight spaces. Its retractable tracks adjusted from 3’3” for narrow areas to 4’3” for optimal jobsite stability. An auxiliary joystick control allowed seamless operation of attachments such as hydraulic thumbs and post hole augers.

Operator comfort was a priority, with increased legroom, ergonomically positioned joysticks, and a semi-suspension seat for long workdays. The front meter panel was easily visible without distraction, and a convenient mobile phone holder kept devices within reach.

KX040-5: Productivity Met User-Friendly Operation

The KX040-5 four-ton compact excavator featured an upgraded hydraulic system for maximum efficiency, allowing operators to run attachments while performing other functions simultaneously.

A spacious cab offered 20% more front glass, improved visibility with removed roof window slash bars, a repositioned 7” LCD monitor, and optional air suspension seating. Advanced technology included keyless start with up to 10 operator passwords and KubotaNOW telematics to monitor hours, fuel, and location. LED work lights with turn-off delay and an optional rear-view camera further enhanced safety and productivity.

SVL97-3: Comfort, Performance, and Productivity in a Compact Loader

The SVL97-3 compact track loader combined performance, comfort, and easy maintenance. Auto-shift optimized traction, while two-speed travel and adjustable track response enhanced operator control. Powered by a 96.4 HP Kubota engine, the SVL97-3 featured auto-idling, self-leveling lift, high hinge-pin height, and Kubota Shockless Ride for smooth operation.

Maintenance was simplified with swing-out radiators and accessible panels, while the one-piece sealed, pressurized cabin kept operators protected from dust and debris. Standard features included LED lights, rear-view camera, keyless start, air-ride heated seat, improved HVAC, spacious interior, and excellent visibility for precise material handling.
