Komatsu and K-Tec Scraper Pairing

Komatsu HM460-6 and K-Tec Scraper Form Earthmoving Pair

Contractors tackling large earthmoving projects can use a single-operator setup that combines Komatsu's HM460-6 articulated dump truck with the K-Tec 1237 ADT scraper, which has a 37-cubic-yard capacity.

The HM460-6 retains its standard warranty when used with the K-Tec 1237 ADT scraper, following testing by Komatsu engineers. The coverage includes one-year unlimited warranty, with extended plans available for up to 60 months or 10,000 hours.

When scraper work isn't required, the HM460-6 can return to its standard dump truck configuration. Komatsu dealers can also order K-Tec scrapers, hitches and parts directly from K-Tec.

HM460-6 Built for Demanding Conditions

The HM460-6 replaced the HM400-5 in Komatsu’s lineup and made its debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026. Its DBA127 diesel engine produces 518 horsepower and delivers 23% more torque than its predecessor. The engine operates without exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), contributing to lower fuel consumption.

A nine-speed Komatsu transmission and intelligent gear control help the truck handle changing ground conditions while carrying heavy loads. Together, the systems manage power delivery across difficult terrain.

Komatsu equips the HM460-6 with traction control and cross-axle differential locks for challenging travel conditions. Hydro-pneumatic suspension is also standard, providing additional support when the truck is travelling over uneven ground.
