Komatsu Expands Parts Distribution

Komatsu Expands Parts Operations With Alberta Facility

A new parts distribution center in St. Albert, Alberta, will support Komatsu’s parts distribution across Canada.

With 135,000 square feet of space, the new facility provides Komatsu twice the warehouse capacity of its previous operation. The additional room allows for more inventory and supports parts deliveries throughout the country, with 24-hour delivery available for most areas across Western Canada.

Automation, updated layouts and new equipment are part of Komatsu’s new operation near Edmonton, which is also connected to the company’s global planning and warehouse management systems. These changes are designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. The new site is part of Komatsu’s North American logistics network.

Komatsu held a grand opening event for the facility on September 10 with company representatives, local officials and dealer partners in attendance.

The additional space also adds workforce capacity and gives Komatsu room to accommodate future needs across Canada’s mining, construction and forestry industries.
