Komatsu Brings XF895-3 Forwarder to North America
Komatsu has expanded its forestry lineup in North America with the introduction of the XF895-3 forwarder. Designed specifically for the rigors of large-scale forestry work, the new model incorporates smarter engineering, strengthened components and productivity-focused updates to perform in the toughest operating environments.
It pairs perfectly with the 8-wheeled XH951XC-1 harvester, launched in September. Purpose-built for final felling and heavy forwarding, the upgraded XF895-3 features a more powerful crane option, a reinforced chassis and a reengineered load space that enables operators to transport larger volumes more efficiently.
Key enhancements include:
- Optional 205F crane offering improved lift geometry and reach extending to 32.8 feet (10 meters)
- An optional G85H grapple offers a 4.3 ft² (0.40 m²) tip-to-tip area, providing enhanced material control.
- Updated telescopic gate, durable bunks with expansion capability and optional height-adjustable stakes
- Strengthened frame and articulating joints engineered to support greater payloads
- New, electronically controlled hydraulic pump improves responsiveness and fuel efficiency
- Streamlined maintenance through a single-filter hydraulic tank configuration
The XF895-3 is ideally suited to operate alongside the XH951XC-1, one of the largest harvesters currently available. With eight driven wheels, the harvester delivers exceptional grip, balance and agility across steep, uneven and soft terrain.
