International® S13® Integrated Powertrain Approved for Renewable Diesel Use
International Motors, LLC (“International”) has officially certified the International® S13® Integrated Powertrain for use with renewable diesel fuel, further solidifying its commitment to sustainability and low-emission technologies.
Renewable diesel, often referred to as R100/R99 or hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), is a sustainable fuel option that can help customers move closer to their zero-emissions goals.
Renewable diesel’s chemical structure is nearly identical to traditional petroleum diesel, making it a direct substitute. It is derived from recycled vegetable oils, tallow, and used cooking oils through a hydrotreating process that results in cleaner combustion and reduced carbon emissions. Compared to biodiesel, R100 lacks oxygen compounds, offering superior cold flow properties and a high Cetane number for cleaner, more efficient burning.
The S13 Integrated Powertrain, featured in International’s LT®, RH™, HX®, and HV™ Series trucks, is designed to set new benchmarks for efficiency and performance. It includes a fully integrated engine, T14 transmission, and aftertreatment system, delivering up to 515 horsepower and 1,850 lb-ft of torque.
