CN and Iowa Northern Railway Finalize Merger, Enhancing Service and Market Access

CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) and Iowa Northern Railway Company officially merged operations on March 1, 2025, following approval from the U.S. Surface Transportation Board.

With this merger complete, CN and Iowa Northern will now integrate their operations to provide enhanced service to customers, boost the Iowa economy, and support communities along the network.

The integration of Iowa Northern’s 175 route miles with CN’s expansive 20,000-mile network will create a more efficient and connected system, offering single-line service to seamlessly link grain, fertilizer, renewable fuels, and industrial markets to CN’s North American network.
