Alabama Rolls On to Kenworth Plant Visit and Electrifies Fans at Washington State Fair
Alabama’s Roll On II Tour recently made a stop in the Seattle area, treating fans to an unforgettable performance at the Washington State Fair. The visit also marked a special reunion with Kenworth, as band members and their road crew toured the company’s Renton truck manufacturing facility. Adding to the excitement, Josh Gentry—son of Alabama co-founder Teddy Gentry—took the wheel of the band’s custom Kenworth T680, making the moment even more memorable.
Throughout 2023, Alabama has been traveling the country with its Roll On II Tour, bringing its legendary sound to audiences nationwide. For Kenworth employees, the factory tour with Alabama was just the beginning of an incredible experience. The following day, a short drive to Puyallup (25 miles south of Renton) led them to the Washington State Fair, where Alabama took center stage. The band delivered a high-energy performance packed with their greatest hits, keeping the crowd on their feet from start to finish. With 27 No. 1 country hits in the 1980s alone and over 200 industry awards, Alabama remains the most decorated band in country music history.
With the concert taking place during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Teddy Gentry took a moment to honor truck drivers for their dedication and hard work. He also shared his pride in Josh for taking on the role of the band’s tour driver. As a final tribute, Gentry gave a heartfelt shout-out to Kenworth and the Renton factory workers before launching into "Roll On (18-Wheeler)," an anthem celebrating the trucking industry. The performance was a perfect ending to an unforgettable night.
