John Deere Introduces Jackson Laux as Chief Tractor Kid
9-Year-Old Social Media Star @justajacksonthing Joins Forces with Chief Tractor Officer Rex Curtiss to Promote Agriculture
MOLINE, Ill. (Nov. 20, 2024) — He helped your grandfather choose the perfect tractor in ‘73, keeps his lawn looking pristine, and collects fresh eggs every morning. Now, he’s John Deere’s first-ever Chief Tractor Kid.
Meet Jackson Laux, a 9-year-old farmer and social media sensation known for his passion for tractors and farming. Partnering with John Deere, Jackson will create engaging content over the next year to spotlight the hard work of those in agriculture.
Jackson became a TikTok star in November 2023 when his cousin posted a video of him responding to the comment, “farm kids are just built different.” Since then, his charisma and expertise have earned him the title of “youngest tractor expert” among his followers. Growing up on his family’s fifth-generation farm in “good old South Whitley, Windy-ana,” Jackson has been immersed in farming since he could walk.
“Farming is really cool, and I want to show other kids my age why they should get into farming too. And show farmers of all ages why they should take the time to teach us younger ones,” Jackson said.
Chief Tractor Officer Rex Curtiss recently visited Jackson’s family farm, where Jackson gave him hands-on lessons in plowing fields, harvesting corn, and caring for his prized chickens. As Chief Tractor Kid, Jackson will continue to share stories of the hardworking people who grow our food and fuel, inspiring future farmers along the way.
