John Deere and the USO Work Together to Support Veterans

John Deere has announced a significant two-year, $100,000 commitment to the USO, a leading nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the well-being of America's military members and their families. This partnership will enable John Deere employees and customers to demonstrate their support and assist service members in transitioning to civilian life through mentorships and career planning programs.

Bob Morris, the USO Business Development Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the impact it will have on the military community. John Deere's history of supporting the military dates back to World War I and World War II, where the company contributed to various military efforts, including manufacturing essential equipment and components.

David Ottavianelli, Director of Workforce and Community Development at John Deere, highlighted the company's commitment to supporting the military through this partnership and acknowledged the vital role that John Deere military veterans will play in the collaboration.

The sponsorship will support several key USO programs:

  • USO Campaign to Connect: This initiative allows John Deere employees and customers to send messages of support to service members stationed at over 250 centers worldwide.
  • USO Transition Assistance: John Deere will help connect active-duty service members with career opportunities within John Deere and other local businesses.
  • USO Mentorship Program: John Deere employees will provide career guidance to military service members and spouses during their transitions.
  • Local USO Activities: John Deere will sponsor special events, such as family outings and military cookouts, allowing employees to directly support military members in their communities.
