WALKING AMONG ELEPHANTS
Think You’re Strong? Think You’re Fast? We often think it won’t happen to me!
In the Quarry or Mine we have a tremendous amount of activity that involves personnel having to walk and work among the machines.
Fatal accidents can occur when pedestrians are struck by Heavy Equipment.
If we had to walk among Elephants (even tame, quiet ones) we would try to find a way to let the Elephants know where we are, so they wouldn’t step on us and crush us.
In the Mine or Quarry we often have 2 way radios and we know it is very important to be seen by and to communicate with the machine operator. Whether you have radio communication or not, you must be sure the equipment operator knows where you are…. Stay alive!
